WHY IS DELEGATE DIFFERENT?
We’ve worked for the big banks. We’ve worked for independent firms. We’ve studied the endless fine print that comes with any financial decision. From our collective experience, we believe our clients want the following from their financial advisor:
Advice without the potential conflicts that come with the Wall Street and big bank models.
A true fiduciary partner that helps you with more than just your investment portfolio.
Access to the CIO with all investment opportunities vetted.
No commissions or hidden fees.
Above all else, we’ve learned to listen. Truth is, there are a lot of reasons clients choose Delegate. But the reason our clients stay with us is because we care. Learn what this means.
WE LOOK AT THE HORIZON
No two clients are alike. The most important thing we do is to create customized plans for our clients – each unique, but all fundamentally based on our clients’ long-term goals. This is the Horizon model and serves as our guide for every decision.
WE ARE FIRM BELIEVERS IN PATIENT BUT FLEXIBLE CAPITAL.
“Patient but flexible capital” means keeping your money on a steady path without overreacting to short-term fluctuations, while maintaining the ability to deviate when appropriate opportunities arise.
WE BELIEVE IN THE GOLDEN RULE.
This means doing what’s right every step of the way with transparency and accountability. It means we would never do anything with your money that we wouldn’t do with our own.
WE PREFER TO TAKE OUR TIME.
Our methodical pace is set to check and recheck every transaction to minimize mistakes and ensure that every decision stays true to your long-term goals.
WE REDUCE THE NOISE.
We evaluate your existing portfolio to identify areas to improve efficiency. Often, a few simple changes make a big difference, creating portfolios that are simplified, more cost-effective and easier to oversee.
It all started with a belief in having the best of both worlds.
Andy Hart is no stranger to the banking industry. He began his career consulting to small banks on how to manage their business more efficiently. He quickly earned a reputation for offering advice only after gaining a complete understanding of each bank’s unique financial position. Soon, he was asked to put his skills to use for large banks in the private wealth management department. While he loved working closely with families to manage their wealth, he was conflicted when pressured to recommend proprietary products that were often overpriced or inferior to other options. There had to be a better way to serve clients.
In 2003, he made the transition to an independent wealth management firm and immediately realized the dramatic differences. He could now provide advice that was analysis-driven rather than beneficial to the bank’s bottom line. He could make recommendations based on his clients’ best interests, not the bank’s. For the first time, he was serving as an advocate, not a marketer of financial products and services. However, the independent model lacked the investment talent and capabilities available through large institutions. Once again, Andy was left wanting something better for his clients.
Was it possible to combine an independent platform with an institutional quality investment team? Seeking an answer to that question, he began a search for a professional counterpart. When Andy met Bob Borden, the stars finally aligned and the foundation for Delegate’s management team was formed. Bob’s investment philosophy and experience investing large pools of capital enables Delegate to invest at a professional level rarely before seen at an independent firm.
All the pieces were finally in place. Delegate was born.
Delegate Advisors is led by a five-member board, including two managing partners – Andy Hart and Robert Borden – with over 50 years of combined investment experience. Our team consists of some of the brightest in the business across a full spectrum of financial and investment responsibilities.
Most importantly, we are genuine. Friendly. Loyal. And we truly care about our clients.
Our people are your people. Meet the team.
